This screen shows all bank activity for a particular bank and General Ledger Account. Remember Argus allows you to maintain multiple banks and bank accounts. This is the manual way of reconciling your bank account, all deposits and other debits show in the top control list and cash received and other credits show in the bottom control list.

Start by selecting the bank in the top left dropdown list. This will automatically pull all transactions from the General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable into the appropriate control lists. On the right hand side enter the ending balance from the bank statement. Deposits and Other Debits is the sum of all outstanding deposits and debits i.e. not marked as having appeared on the bank statement. Checks and Other Credits is a sum of all outstanding cash deposits and other credits i.e. not marked as having appeared on the bank statement. General Ledger Balance shows the current balance in the account as determined by adding all debits and credits in the General Ledger Account associated with this particular bank account. The Unreconciled Difference  =  (Statement Ending Balance + Deposits and Other Debits - Checks and Other Credits) - General Ledger Balance.

Review the bank statement and mark the debits and credits that appear on the statement, simply click on the item in the control list this will mark the entry as having appeared on the statement. Clicking on an entry that is marked as having appeared on a statement will toggle it back to having not appeared status. Use the Range button to clear a range of checks. On occasions you may find entries on your bank statement that have not been entered in to Argus. You can use the Adjustment button to make these entries. E.G. if the bank statement shows a bank service charge of $29.95 you would enter it as shown :

This will make the charge of $29.95 appear in the appropriate control list and can be marked off appropriately.

Argus also can take an automatic feed from your bank and do account reconciliation using that.
