Argus can budget and track billable and non-billable time for each client/matter. The actual hours/amount billed is compared against a budgeted amount. Budgeting can be done for client/matter, timekeeper and general ledger account.
Client: This is the client id of the client. It is pre-filled.
Client Name: This is the name of the client associated with the id.
Matter: This is the id of the matter. This is pre-filled from the prior screen.
Description: This is the brief description of the matter.
Budget year: This is the fiscal year drop box. Select a year and budget information for that year will show in the control list.
The control list shows the accounting period (the current period is checked). Budgeted hour, Hours billed, Variance for billed hours, Non-billable hours, Variance for non-billable hours, Budgeted amount, Billed amount, Variance for billed amount, Non-billable amount and Variance for non-billable amount.
To set budgeted amount for a period double click on that row in the control list:
Client: This is the client id of the client whose matter is having time added to it. It is pre-filled.
Client Name: This is the name of the client associated with the id.
Matter: This is the id of the matter for which time will be added. This is pre-filled from the prior screen.
Description: This is the brief description of the matter.
Year: The fiscal year.
Period: The account period. Period Starting Date to Period Ending Date.
Hours: Enter the budgeted hours that should be billed to this client/matter.
Amount: Enter the budgeted amount that should be billed to this client/matter.
