Argus has a flexible and comprehensive way of assigning billing rates to timekeepers (attorneys). One of the ways is to tie a timekeeper's billing rate to a specific client/matter. This means that a timekeeper can have customized billing rate for each client/matter. Typically most firms will rely on a standard billing rate for a timekeeper and then customize it up (or down) for a special case client/matter. Here is the screen that is the entry point into assigning these rates:
Client: This is the client id of the client. It is pre-filled.
Client Name: This is the name of the client associated with the id.
Matter: This is the id of the matter. This is pre-filled from the prior screen.
Description: This is the brief description of the matter.
The Control List shows any existing timekeepers that have a special rate for this client/matter.
Add Button: Add a new billing rate for a timekeeper for this client/matter.
Modify Button: Modify an existing billing rate for a timekeeper for this client/matter.
Remove Button: Remove an existing billing rate for a timekeeper for this client/matter.
Press the Add Button:
Select a timekeeper (attorney) by pressing the Browse button.
Enter a rate for the selected timekeeper.
This rate will be used whenever time is entered for this attorney (MJS) for this client/matter.
