Client/Matter Document Management List

Argus can manage documents generated for a client/matter. These documents can be Microsoft Word documents, spreadsheets, etc. or scanned in documents received from other sources. Argus also allows access to these documents from a client/matter screen by invoking the appropriate program to deal with the document type. This screen is accessed from the Client/Matter list screen by pressing the Document Button:

Client: This is the client id.

Client Name: This is the name of the client associated with the id.

Matter: This is the id of the matter. This is pre-filled from the prior screen.

Description: This is the brief description of the matter.

Documents Control List: This shows the Document Type, Document file name & path, Document Description.

Add Button: Press the add button to add a new document to this Client/Matter.

Remove Button: Select a document from the control list and press the remove button to delete a document. Note: This only removes the link from Argus. The document still exists on the hard drive, delete this from the windows explorer.

Invoke Button: Select a document from the control list and press the Invoke button to access it.

Press the Add Button:

Type: Is a drop box that lists types of documents.

The next field contains the directory where the new file will be kept. This is created by combining the system wide base document directory with the client-matter.

File: This is the name of the document. Either enter the name of a new document or simply use the browse button to locate an existing file that is to be added. If the file doesn't exist - add it here and then go back to the previous screen and double click on its entry in the control list to create the physical document and to add to it.

Description: Enter the document description.
