Originating attorneys in the vernacular of Argus are attorneys who bring a client to the firm. They get compensation/credit for billing done to the client/matters that they are responsible for bringing to the firm. Argus can assign a percentage ownership to an unlimited number of originating attorneys for a client/matter. Argus has reports that can be run to determine the credit/compensation that should be made to each originating attorney. This screen is accessed from the Client/Matter List screen by pressing the Orig. Atty. Button:
Client: This is the client Id.
Client Name: This is the name of the client associated with the id.
Matter: This is the id of the matter. This is pre-filled from the prior screen.
Description: This is the brief description of the matter.
Originating Attorney Control List: This shows the attorneys who are the Originating Attorneys for this client/matter and their share percent.
Add Button: Press to add another attorney to the originating list.
Modify Button: Select an originating attorney from the control list and press the Modify Button to change.
Remove Button: Select an originating attorney from the control list and press the Remove Button to delete.
The Browse button allows the selection of an attorney to be added to the originating list.
Share Pct.: Enter the percent of share for this originating attorney.
Note: Argus will enforce a 100% distribution for originating attorney(s).
