Time transaction list screen

This screen lists Posted and Unposted time entries for the matter selected in the prior screen:

Client: This is the client id of the client whose matter is having time added to it. It is pre-filled.

Client Name: This is the name of the client associated with the id.

Matter: This is the id of the matter for which time will be added. This is pre-filled from the prior screen.

Description: This is the brief description of the matter.

Date: This is the date for the time entries.

Total: This is the total of all posted and unposted time entries for this matter for this date.

Posted: This is the total for all posted time entries for this matter for this date.

Unposted: This is the total for all entered time entries for this matter by date that haven't been posted yet.

All Days: Check this box to see ALL time transactions for this client/matter without regard to the date of the transactions.

Posted Transaction Control List: This contains all the posted time entries - click to select for transaction or double click for more information.

Unposted Transaction Control List: This contains all the unposted time entries - click to select for transaction or double click for more information.

Unpost Button: Select a line in the posted control list and press this button to unpost it.

Add Button: Add a time transaction for this client/matter for the date selected.

Modify Button: Modify a time transaction by selecting a line from the unposted control list and pressing this button.

Remove Button: Remove a time transaction by selecting a line from the unposted control list and pressing this button.

Post Button: Post  a time transaction by selecting a line from the unposted control list and pressing this button.

OK Button: Press to dismiss this dialog control.

 

Adding a time transaction

 

Client: This is the client id of the client whose matter is having time added to it. It is pre-filled.

Client Name: This is the name of the client associated with the id.

Matter: This is the id of the matter for which time will be added. This is pre-filled from the prior screen.

Description: This is the brief description of the matter.

Att. Id.: This is the timekeeper who reported this time. It will default to the working attorney associated with this matter, however, this can be overridden by pressing the Browse button and selecting another resource.

Activity: This drop down contains the pre-defined activity codes for common tasks/activities that are performed by resource. You may select one from here or not use it.

UTBMS Code: Press the Browse button to select a UTBMS code. You may leave this empty.

Billable Group Box: This determines if this time entry will be billable or not. The initial setting for this is drawn from the billable status of the matter for which this time entry is being made. This may be overridden by selecting billable/unbillable option.

Rate: This drop box contains the hourly billable rate of the timekeeper. The rate that shows up initially is in the following hierarchy: A rate specifically assigned to this matter for this timekeeper followed by the general hourly rate of the timekeeper in force for the current date.

Hours: Enter the hours in (1.00 format) spend on this time entry. You can also use the timer to calculate time spent on a particular task. (see next item)

Timer Group Box: This is used to calculate time for a transaction just as if a stop watch was being used. When a task is started click the On radio button - this will get the clock animation to run - when the task is complete click the Off radio button. This will automatically calculate the time in hour and its fraction and display it in the Hours field.

Amount: The amount is automatically calculated by multiply the hours by the rate.

Details: This is used for entering the narrative portion of the time entry. It allows for virtually unlimited text and provides a built in spell checker for the user's convenience.

 Pressing the Add button will add the current time entry and allow the next entry. Pressing the OK button will add the current entry but will take you back to the prior screen. Pressing the Cancel button will abort the current entry.
